Well, 2007 is behind us and now we can really look forward to a time of new beginnings in 2008.  What have you resolved to do differently in 2008?  Eat less?  Exercise more?  Rebuild some tattered relationships?  How about this one - learn how to become more mature in your faith?

Last fall, a group of men and women in our congregation decided that they were going to commit 9 weeks of their busy schedules to just that - becoming more spiritually mature - becoming like Christ.  Most of them had been members of this and other churches for the majority of their lives, but as they shared with me in class, the church had not taught them HOW to become more spiritually mature.  They really wanted to grow deeper in their faith, but they "didn't know where or how to begin."

Spiritual Maturity is not AUTOMATIC.  It takes a process and it takes discipline, thus the word "discipleship."
